In
the spring of 1994, eleven men at Binghamton University believed
that Asian representation was not as strong as it should be. They
felt the need to form an organization that would represent Asians
in a more positive way. An organization that would help breakdown
the negative stereotypes associated with Asians by educating themselves
and others of their heritage and culture. They envisioned a brotherhood
in which this could be achieved. Struggling
together, these eleven men built the foundation of the Pi Delta
Psi Fraternity, Inc. Today, we the brothers of Pi Delta Psi, from
different nationalities and backgrounds, continue their struggle
and vision to further empower and unify the Asian community.
Since
the Fraternity's inception, new Brothers have joined the journey
in search of themselves, gaining knowledge and experience, by accepting
the adventures and conquering the challenges offered to them. To
all of us, pledging is a never - ending process. There is never
a day that dawns in which each and everyone of us does not learn
something that enriches ourselves whether it be through education,
life's challenges or helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Only through brotherhood and education, can we perservere together,
to work for a new and better tomorrow. As brothers of Pi Delta Psi,
we never stop pledging our oath to uphold the fraternity's ideals
and beliefs to strive for a better tomorrow.
With
other chapters and colonies in Buffalo, Hofstra, Stonybrook, Albany,
New York University, RPI, Rochester, Cornell, Rutgers and UMass,
we strive to bring our goals and values to where ever we may exist.

The
Kappa Colony of Pi Delta Psi was established in the Spring of 1998.
As the Asian population grew at Cornell University, five dedicated
men joined together to represent the different Asian cultures in
their quest to educate the student body, build friendships, and
make leaders. The five founding brothers are Frank Hsieh,
Wellie Chiang, Hyoung Kyu Oh, Li
Liang, and Michael Chang. As
the first Asian Cultural Fraternity on campus, we strive to break
the negative steriotypes commonly projected on Asian cultures.
The
Kappa Colony continues to grow as new brothers come together with
a common vision to further empower and unify the Asian community.
As brothers of Pi Delta Psi, we carry the goals, values, ideals,
and objectives of the fraternity and incorporate them at Cornell
University.
